Drew Reynold, 52, called 911 and told Los Angeles police officers he and Bertik were arguing in the apartment they share, when she armed herself with a steak knife and lunged at him several times.
He suffered a puncture wound to the abdomen and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Police launched an extensive search for Bertik that included a helicopter and two Simi Valley K-9 units.
Bertik was found hiding in a neighboring apartment and was arrested without incident. The knife was recovered.
Bertik was booked at Ventura County jail on one count of assault with a deadly weapon.
