Artists won't sing Oscar-nominated songs

The artists behind the year's five nominated songs will not perform during the Academy Awards broadcast, it was announced Wednesday.The nominated songs will be showcased with clips from the films that featured them, said Leslie Unger, a spokeswoman for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The nominees this year are:

-- "Almost There" from "The Princess and the Frog," Randy Newman

-- "Down in New Orleans" from "The Princess and the Frog," Randy Newman

-- "+" from "Paris 36," Reinhardt Wagner and Frank Thomas

-- "Take it All" from "Nine," Maury Yeston

-- "The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)" from "Crazy Heart," Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett

The Oscars will be broadcast on March 7 on ABC7.
