Suggestions to get around San Dimas landslide

SAN DIMAS, Calif.

The transition road connecting the northbound 71 and the 57 Freeway is closed, as well as the transition road connecting the westbound 10 and the 57.

Crews have been using heavy equipment to clear the rubble.

The hill slid on Thursday after it was saturated from recent rains, according to geologists. They're concerned about the hill because more rain is expected over the next several days.

Drivers who need to get around the slide area can take these alternate routes:

  • If you're driving north on Highway 71, you can take the 60 West and reconnect with the 57 North to reach the 210.
  • If you're using the westbound 10 Freeway, you can exit at North Towne Avenue and reconnect with the 210 Freeway.
  • You can also use the 605 or the 15 to get between the 10 and 210 freeways to avoid the landslide closures.
