Wife of Dodgers owner seeks $1 mil. per month

LOS ANGELES That's more than double the $488,000 per month Jamie McCourt asked for when the couple originally separated last year.

The new dollar amount was revealed in court papers unsealed on Thursday, February 18.

Jamie McCourt is the team's former CEO.

Attorneys for Jamie claim that Frank McCourt is trying to mislead the court about his financial worth.

Her attorneys say the new number is based on documented monthly expenses of more than two-million dollars the couple has shared since 2004.

The filing also claims Frank McCourt is trying to transform the Dodgers into a sports business empire that could include cable t-v channels.

The support issue was not resolved.

The judge set another hearing for late May, well into the 2010 baseball season.

Frank McCourt claims a post nuptial agreement gives him sole ownership of the Dodgers.

Jaimie McCourt says the document should be thrown out.
