$1 million of marijuana seized at border

YUMA, Arizona More than 1,200 pounds of marijuana were stuffed into a Chevy Tahoe that agents spotted Tuesday evening.

Agents discovered a 2001 Chevy Tahoe trying to illegally cross the border about 30 miles east of the San Luis port of entry. The driver and three passengers fled and escaped over the border fence into Mexico.

Agents seized 107 bundles of marijuana, with a street value of just under a million dollars. The SUV, which had been reported stolen, was turned over to the Yuma County Sheriff's office. The marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
