I.E. bishop gets prison for dealing drugs

HOME GARDENS, Calif. A judge sentenced 51-year-old Anthony Garduno of Our Lady of Tepeyac Church in Home Gardens on Monday to two years in prison. Garduno pleaded guilty to drug and weapons possession charges last month.

Authorities found methamphetamine, GHB (date rape drug), and a prescription sedative in his home, as well as a stolen .32-caliber semiautomatic pistol.

In September, Garduno was shot and robbed inside the church. Investigators think that attack was drug related.

The church is not affiliated with the Catholic Church.
