Police responded about 4:30 a.m. Sunday to a report that a girl had been sexually assaulted in her Redlands home.
The girl was taken to a local medical facility for treatment.
Berryhill had fled the Redlands home before officers arrived.
Late that afternoon, Berryhill was tracked to a family member's home on the 12400 block of 14th Street in Yucaipa, where he was found hiding in a bathroom.
Officers arrested Berryhill on a parole violation and later charged him with several assault charges, including forcible child molestation.
