Person shot on Washington High campus

ATHENS, LOS ANGELES Police received the report at 5:39 p.m. The campus is mostly empty at that hour.

L.A. County Sheriff's deputies and county firefighters were on scene. The victim was put on an ambulance and transported to a hospital with a police-car escort.

The school is located at 10860 S. Denker Avenue near the 110 Freeway in unincorporated Athens.

Motive or suspects were not identified.
