The suspects allegedly targeted elderly victims. Witnesses said the two watched the supermarket parking lot and waited for their victims to enter the store. Once the person was inside, police say they would back their car into the victim's parked vehicle causing minor damage. When the victim returned, the father-son duo would exchange information and allegedly steal cash and credit cards.
Police responding to a call of an accident, Tuesday involving two vehicles spotted the Oneals driving away. They were arrested a short time later.
They were booked at the El Segundo Police Department for grand theft and are currently being held on related parole holds without bail.
