Another big-rig was at the scene and unable to cross underneath the damaged Union Pacific Bridge.
El Monte Police officers were on scene investigating.
Santa Anita Boulevard was closed in both directions near Valley Blvd. in El Monte while the bridge's structural integrity was examined.
Metrolink service was not affected and the bridge was reopened a short time later. Police are still looking for the trucker.
