"I came out to put my trash cans out for the night and saw a large volume of smoke coming from the front door," Wiggs said. "Really all I could do was keep it, as it rolled out into the living room, try to keep it back and contained to the back of the house."
Both Wiggs and the elderly woman were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
