The PaleyFest opened with a tribute to the hit comedy series "Modern Family." The new show became a success right out of the box, and has already been renewed for a second season. "I think people are hungry for a family comedy. I think that it has turned that genre on its ear a little bit, and has made it very smart and very relevant," said actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson. "Speaking personally, for me and Eric's storyline, seeing a gay couple raising a baby hasn't happened on network television with that centerpiece of a relationship before."

"Modern Family" has attracted a large audience from all walks of life. Subsequently, many people can easily relate to the characters and life-like situations they find themselves in.

"The writers and the creators of the show just did a good job of creating characters that people can relate to. They see themselves on TV," said actor Eric Stonestreet.

Cast members of the hit ABC show all say they appreciate their fans, and that working on the show is an incredible experience.

"The universal things seem to be what people come up and mention on the street, which I love hearing," said actor Ty Burrell. "I love hearing things like 'You guys have been bringing our family together.' It has been incredible."
