3 rescued after being trapped in O.C. cove

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. Laguna Beach firefighters say a woman and two men, all in their early 20s, walked down to the cove near Table Rock Drive and Pacific Coast Highway at about 6 p.m. but got trapped when the high tide came in.

They called for help at about 9 p.m.

Firefighters used a ladder truck to lower a basket about 75 to 100 feet down, and all three people were hoisted to safety.

Two of them were suffering from exposure to the cold and were taken to a hospital to be checked out.
