Vista L.A. visited three Mexican restaurants expanding the palette. Guelaguetza Restaurants serve regional dishes from the state of Oaxaca in Southern Mexico.

The first Loteria Grill Restaurant opened its doors in 2002 at L.A.'s Original Farmers Market. In 2008, Loteria Grill Chef/Owner Jimmy Shaw opened a second location in Hollywood.

In downtown Los Angeles, renowned chef John Rivera Sedlar is serving up his own brand of modern Latino cooking at Rivera Restaurant, who also uses his restaurant as a vehicle to educate people about Latino cuisine and elevate it to what he calls its proper place in the culinary world.
