Sketch of Downtown kidnap suspect released

LOS ANGELES He and another suspect allegedly forced their way into the car of a 46-year-old jewelry store employee, tied her up and drove her to a motel. Police say they threatened her children and demanded money.

The pair demanded that her family pay a ransom, but her family members were not at home. The suspects then left the victim in the room, with her car in the parking lot.

"They also left a very ominous warning that they or their friends would be back to get the money, or hurt the victim's children," said LAPD Lt. Paul Vernon.

The victim reported the crime that night. Erika Orenday was arrested Friday. Her bail is set at more than $1 million.

Now police are looking for her accomplice, a man in his late 20s or early 30s who goes by the name of "Pacho." He has a goatee and crew cut hair and is known to cross the border frequently. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
