Butler stars in new animated film 'Dragon'

Hollywood Wrap with George Pennacchio
LOS ANGELES Actor Gerard Butler is heard, and not seen, in the new action filled animated film, "How to Train Your Dragon." It's his first time doing voice over work on this scale.

"Over three years I got involved with this and it has been a long time coming, so its' been exciting, to see it all come together," said Butler. "But you don't really see it all come together. Suddenly they say the film's finished and you go and watch it and you're like, 'Oh, this is what I've been working on all this time.' It's the most beautiful thing."

Butler's character is the leader of the Vikings. He is the one who leads his people into battle against the dreaded dragons.

"Any story that involves warriors whether it is Vikings, Romans or Spartans, there's going to be that rallying moment," said Butler. "That obligatory battle cry, and fortunately me begin chief of the village I get to be that guy."

The busy actor actually has his name on two marquees this weekend at the movies. He's also starring in the romantic comedy "The Bounty Hunter" with Jennifer Aniston. And he's filming Shakespeare.

"That's what I'd consider, as an actor, living the dream -- getting to dip in and out of every kind of character and genre," said Butler. "It keeps it fresh and exciting for me."
