Elton John stage at Mexico ruins collapses

MEXICO CITY Part of the stage collapsed while it was being set up at the famed Chichen Itza ruins. Three workers were injured. Two of them were transported and released. The third has a broken leg.

The ruins were not damaged and there has been no talk of canceling the show.

Some Mexicans have opposed holding concerts at the ruin site, claiming it demeans their cultural significance and endangers the stone structures.
