Mendivil was wanted in the death of Pamela Nadine Kilpatrick in Redlands.
Officers received a call of a man assaulting a woman at a storage facility on the 600 block of New York Street just before 2 p.m. Friday.
When police got to the scene they found a 35-year-old woman bleeding near one of the storage units. The victim was taken to the hospital where she later died.
