Celebs react to Sheridan 'Housewives' lawsuit

LOS ANGELES The stars of the show gathered on their fictional block "Wisteria Lane" on the Universal Studios backlot Wednesday to promote awareness of child hunger.

The event comes amid Sheridan's $20 million lawsuit.

It alleges that Marc Cherry hit her in the face and head in 2008 after she asked him about a line in the script.

The actress says after she reported the incident to ABC, her character was killed off in retaliation. Those close to Sheridan and Cherry are stunned by what's happening.

"I think it's sad. I think it's a bummer than it's come to this," said TV personality Melissa Rivers. "I think they're both very talented people, and Marc Cherry is absolutely one of my favorite writers in television. You know, let's hope it sorts itself out."

Sheridan's former co-star /*Eva Longoria Parker*/ tells People magazine that she's really confused by the whole thing.

Meantime, ABC says it has not seen the lawsuit but investigated similar claims by Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit.
