Woman kidnapped from O.C. college, assaulted

HUNTINGTON BEACH The assault happened at around 5:30 p.m. on March 5 when the woman was walking to her car parked in the college lot. The victim eventually came forward this week to report the incident.

The woman said a man armed with a knife came up from behind and put his arm around her neck. She said he threatened her and forced her into his car, described as a black, newer model four-door sedan. He then drove her to an unknown location where he sexually assaulted her.

After the sexual assault, the suspect drove the woman back to the campus and let her go.

"It's a very traumatic crime to go through so we're working with her. We want her to not have to suffer anymore, but we need to get the information so we can catch this guy," said Huntington Beach Police Lt. Russell Reinhart.

The suspect was described as a white male in his mid 30s to early 40s, 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall, with a chubby build. He has a shaved head and a small tuft of brown hair on his chin.

Anyone with information was urged to call Huntington Beach police at (714) 960-8825.

Flyers alerting students of the incident have been posted on the campus. Golden West College officials have increased security on campus in light of the attack, and will hold safety and awareness classes.
