Major IE hospitals threatened with shutdown

RIVERSIDE, Calif. State health officials are threatening to revoke Southwest Healthcare System's license to run the two facilities.

The move comes after nearly three years of complaints, inspections and violations at the troubled medical centers.

If successful, Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta and Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar would be closed.

Southwest Healthcare Systems says it plans to appeal any effort to close the hospitals.

Meanwhile, the two hospitals will remain open during the legal challenge.
