2 killed, 1 badly injured in Pomona shooting

POMONA, Calif. Authorities responded to reports of a /*shooting*/ in the 1000 block of East Mission Boulevard at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Police found all three men inside a red vehicle. Two men were declared dead at the scene, while a third man was taken to /*USC Medical Center*/ in critical condition.

The shooting happened just a few blocks from police headquarters. Police admit that they don't have a lot of information to work with in their investigation - no suspects and no motive.

Some neighbors reported hearing about four shots, possibly from a shotgun, but police could not confirm that information.

"Sounded like a couple of bangs against the wall. I live right down the street, about half a block away," said Jeff Valdez of Pomona.

Some neighbors discussed the crime without any hesitation, and they say the brazen murders are just the latest in a long line of violent crimes.

"It's not the safest place sometimes. For the most part, it's pretty quiet, but when something happens, it usually seems to happen pretty big," said Monica Valles of Pomona.

Police identified the victims as Michael Deon McCall, 44, and Allen Mark Alexander, 48.

Police are unsure if the shooting was gang related.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Pomona Police Department at (909) 622-1241.
