CHATSWORTH, Calif. --A 60-year-old woman was saved in a dramatic and complicated rescue in Chatsworth Saturday after the woman drove off a bridge and landed in a flood channel.The crash happened just before noon on Parthenia Street near Nobel Avenue. Once firefighters arrived, they climbed down into the 25-foot channel and placed the woman in a metal stretcher and used ropes and pullies to hoist high her above the channel to safety.
The woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition. There were no other people in the car. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
