Man arrested for attempts to assault teens

RESEDA, Calif. Police believe Perez specifically targeted young girls over the past 13 months. He was arrested on April 28 after being sought by police since March 2009.

Perez allegedly attacked his first victim outside a /*Sherman Oaks*/ high school on March 19. The victim fought back and managed to escape, but not before Perez allegedly punched her repeatedly, causing fractures to her face.

Perez allegedly attacked his second victim outside her apartment building on May 8. He allegedly grabbed her from behind and dragged her toward his silver Volkswagen, but as they struggled, they both fell to the ground, and Perez fled the scene.

The third victim, a 13-year-old girl, was allegedly attacked on the way to a friend's house on Nov. 11, but the victim was able to break free of his grasp. The last two reported incidents happened in April.

Perez was apprehended after a victim's family member was able to spot his license plate number following his last reported attack. Police pulled him over at the Parthenia Street and Reseda Boulevard. He is now being held on $2 million bail.

"We're looking further into seeing if there is any other related crimes," said LAPD Lt. Ed Pape.
