LOMITA, Calif. --
A female deputy was shot and wounded during a traffic stop in Lomita on Thursday morning. The suspect is still outstanding.Authorities said the deputy
had stopped the car for unknown reasons in the 1700 block of 257th Street at 1:30 a.m. when the suspect shot the deputy in the elbow.
She fired back, smashing a window on the black Chevy Silverado before it fled.
The deputy was treated at a local hospital and released.
A suspect description was not available. No further information is available at this time.
