Ontario cracking down on yard sales

ONTARIO, Calif. The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports some yard sales professionals are paying people to rent their yards to sell brand-new merchandise.

Ontario limits people to two yard sales per year, and charges them a $3 permit fee.

Ontario officials want to limit yard sales to the first weekends of February, May, July and November and eliminate the permits altogether.

If the city council approves the plan, it would go into effect before summer.
