A bullet traveled about 40 yards and struck a female shopper in the buttocks. She received a minor wound that didn't penetrate her skin. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her name hasn't been released.
Bass Pro Shop spokesman Larry Whitely says customers check weapons in at the front desk before they go upstairs to the firing range. On Sunday the gun fired before the store employee could examine it.
