The child's mother, identified only as Michelle, asked the officer to participate in the mock arrest to teach her son a lesson. He had apparently been setting fires outside the family's home, and she says she has no regrets.
"If more parents did what I did, we wouldn't have crime that we have now," Michelle said, adding that she'd do it again.
The Sheriff's Department is looking into the incident, saying it is not procedure to handcuff anyone not about to be arrested.
