3 jewelry bandits wanted in takeover robbery

OXNARD, Calif. Oxnard Police say two men walked into the 5 De Mayo Jewelry store in the 100 block of West Channel Islands Boulevard on Wednesday, May 19 at 12:30 p.m. They requested an item, and an employee went to the back of the store to retrieve it. One of the robbers followed the employee, pulled out a gun, and tied up two employees.

The suspects took off with several items of jewelry, cash and two weapons from inside the business. The suspects fled the scene in a blue van that was waiting outside.

Officers located the vehicle abandoned near a carwash at Bryce Cyn and Saviers Road. Oxnard Police say the van was stolen out of Hawthorne on an unknown date.
