Menifee brush fire threatened 10 to 15 homes

A brush fire broke out in Menifee at the intersection of Camino de los Caballos and Lindenberger Road on Monday. The blaze scorched 30 to 35 acres and threatened up to 15 homes at its peak. It was contained by Riverside firefighters.

A brush fire broke out in Menifee on Monday at around 3:41 p.m., scorching 30 to 35 acres and spreading rapidly.The blaze is threatening 10 to 15 homes at the intersection of Camino de los Caballos and Lindenberger Road, but evacuations were not not issued.

As of 5 p.m., Riverside County Fire officials confirmed that the forward spread of the fire has been contained. They also stated that threat to nearby structures has been mitigated.

Riverside County Fire and Cal Fire remained on the scene of the blaze east of Interstate 215 and Scott Road.

Authorities say that 145 firefighters, two helicopters and two air tankers are working on this fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and there have been no report of injuries.
