OC bank robbery leads to pursuit, arrests

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. /*Newport Beach*/ police say that at 11 a.m., two armed men wearing dark clothes, dark sunglasses and fake beards entered the /*Bank of America*/ on East Coast Highway in Corona Del Mar. Once inside, they pointed the guns in the air and ordered everyone to get on the ground. Police say the men then took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects fled in a vehicle, but a witness was able to give police a vehicle description and the direction the men were headed.

Police eventually found the car, and a pursuit began. The suspects initially got on the 405 Freeway, then exited and sped through Westminster, Los Alamitos and /*Seal Beach*/ on surface streets.

The pursuit came to an end in /*Long Beach*/, where the two men were arrested. A third suspect, who is a woman, was also arrested in connection with the robbery. Investigators say she was hiding in the car.

All three suspects are being held in lieu of $100,000 bail at the Newport Beach Jail. Their identities have not yet been released.
