According to police, the driver of that car is facing DUI charges, but they also said he may not be held responsible for the man's death.
Witnesses say 39-year-old Darren Montoute was jay walking when he was hit by an out of control car at around 8:51 p.m. at 4259 Cahuenga Blvd. The car then careened into another vehicle, injuring those inside.
Montoute died at the scene. One person was trapped and another was critically injured. All four people in the vehicles were hospitalized.
