Man arrested in 2009 murder of 13-yr-old

OXNARD, Calif. On June 10, 2009, a drive-by shooting occurred at First Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Young Joseph Jacquez was caught in the crossfire and died from his gunshot wounds.

After over a year of investigative work, /*Oxnard police*/ arrested Pablo Manuel Cruz Friday, June 18. Police say that the 19-year-old suspect has ties to an Oxnard /*gang*/. Cruz, a Santa Paula resident, is being sent to the Ventura County jail. He is being charged with murder and a gang allegation, and he is being held without bail.

Authorities said they don't want to release any more information about the incident because they expect to make more arrests. Investigators believe that Cruz did not act alone while committing this criminal act.

The city of Oxnard is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the other individuals responsible for this crime.
