Problem nurses to be disciplined in Calif.

LOS ANGELES The state /*Board of Registered Nursing*/ has learned that about 3,500 of its nurses have been sanctioned in other states for sexual abuse, rampant drug use, neglect and more, without affecting their California licenses.

About 2,000 of them now face discipline in California.

The /*California Department of Consumer Affairs*/, which oversees the agencies that license nurses, said the large number of new disciplinary cases will be challenging to process.
