Oxnard Jack in the Box robbed at gunpoint

Oxnard police are searching for the man who robbed a Jack in the Box restaurant at gunpoint Wednesday night.

Oxnard police are searching for the man who robbed a Jack in the Box restaurant at gunpoint Wednesday night.The robbery was reported at 9:07 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say the man, about 40 years old, entered the restaurant at 550 South Victoria Avenue, and ordered food from the clerk. When the clerk opened up the cash register, the suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk and ordered the clerk to hand over all of the money. The clerk placed the money on the counter and the suspect picked it up.

Police say the heavy-set man, who had a beard and wore a baseball cap, was last seen running east through the restaurant's parking lot. Witnesses could not say if he left in a vehicle.
