Lindsay Lohan burst into tears after hearing the sentence for violating her probation.
Lohan appeared very somber as she walked out of the Beverly Hills after her hearing Tuesday.
Lohan spent 84 minutes in jail in 2007 after she pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine and no contest to two counts of DUI and one count of reckless driving.
The movie star is part of a cast of Hollywood celebrities who have been in trouble with the law.
"Celeb-utante" Paris Hilton did jail time at Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood after violating her probation in her DUI case. With credit for good behavior, Hilton served 23 days of her 45-day sentence.
In 2001 actress Winona Ryder was charged with stealing more than $5,000 worth of designer clothes at a Beverly Hills department store. She avoided jail time, but was sentenced to three years probation, community service and fines, and ordered to attend psychological and drug counseling.
Nicole Richie served 82 minutes of a four-day sentence due to jail overcrowding. She had drive under the influence on the wrong way down the 134 Freeway in Glendale in December of 2006.
Lohan has had a track record of bad behavior.
Lohan was not required to immediately surrender. She will have to turn herself in by July 20 and will also be required to enter an inpatient rehab program after her release from jail.
