Ventura police seek armed robbery suspect

A photo of an armed suspect has been released by Ventura Police, who hope the public can identify the gunman, who shot at a 7-Eleven store clerk while his accomplice stole a beer.Ventura Police are investigating the robbery and attempted murder at the convenience store at 6320 Bristol Road.

Investigators say June 12 at 2:25 a.m., one of the suspects, wearing a white T-shirt to conceal his nose and mouth, walked to the beer cooler. A second suspect stood just inside the store near the door and pointed a shotgun at the clerk, who was helping another customer at the counter.

After the first suspect took a beer from the cooler and fled, the armed suspect fired one shot at the clerk, who ducked and avoided injury.

No one was hurt.

Ventura Police are hoping someone can identify the armed suspect from the surveillance photo.
