The water was shut off as repair crews were called into to fix the break and firefighters used sand bags to prevent damage to businesses.
About 10 businesses were left without water.
There were no reports of property damage.
Water main floods block of downtown L.A.
LOS ANGELES A construction crew damaged the 12-inch water main while working on the 1100 block of South Main Street. The water flooded South Main between 11th and 12th streets.
