Drinking alcohol may increase risk of stroke

LOS ANGELES The study looked at 390 /*stroke*/ patients and re-traced their behavior. Researchers found that 14 patients had been drinking the hour before the stroke.

The findings appear in the online edition of Stroke.

The report said more study is needed and the findings should not deter moderate drinking.

Others studies have said moderate drinking over the long term may reduce the risk of /*heart attack*/ and stroke.
