LOS ANGELES --
A new study says the risk of having a stroke may increase an hour after drinking one serving of alcohol. The study looked at 390 stroke
patients and re-traced their behavior. Researchers found that 14 patients had been drinking the hour before the stroke.
The findings appear in the online edition of Stroke.
The report said more study is needed and the findings should not deter moderate drinking.
Others studies have said moderate drinking over the long term may reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.
