VENTURA, Calif. Ventura police say officers responded to a call of a burglar in a home in the 1100 block of Buena Vista Street at about 10:35 p.m. Sunday. Police say the resident confronted the man but there was no physical contact between them.

When officers arrived they arrested the suspect, identified as Rodrigo Toledo of Carpinteria. Officers searched the area and found the house's fence broken and an open unlocked rear door, where the suspect entered.

Police believe Toledo may have also been involved in another attempted burglary at about 9:48 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Barnard Way in Ventura.

Toledo was booked into the Ventura County jail on suspicion of burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
