SD man busted with 25 lbs of methamphetamine

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a 25-year-old San Diego man on suspicion of drug smuggling after finding nearly 24 pounds of methamphetamine inside his truck.

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a San Diego man on suspicion of drug smuggling after finding nearly 24 pounds of methamphetamine inside his truck.Agents arrested the 25-year-old U.S. citizen after a search of his Nissan Frontier truck turned up 10 wrapped packages of methamphetamine totaling 23.72 pounds. The drugs have an estimated street value of $426,960.

The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon approximately one mile south of the I-5 checkpoint.

The suspected smuggler and the narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
