Jury selected in Anna Nicole Smith case

LOS ANGELES The panel of six men and six women was chosen Tuesday after two days of intense questioning by attorneys. Opening statements are expected to begin Wednesday.

Superior Court Judge Robert Perry called a new panel of about 70 prospects earlier in the day.

Howard K. Stern and the doctors, Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich have pleaded not guilty to conspiring to get her massive amounts of opiates and sedatives.

The 39-year-old former Playboy Playmate died on Feb. 8, 2007 from an accidental prescription drug overdose in a Florida hotel room.

Lawyers on Tuesday quizzed the prospective jurors about their attitudes toward drugs, doctors and police officers.
