JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. --
Strollers are no longer just for babies. They're quickly becoming a new trend at a senior citizens apartment complex in Florida. It all started because dogs on long leashes were becoming a hazard for disabled residents at a Jacksonville Beach
complex. The building's management then suggested residents transport their pets in strollers, and the idea took off.
"So everyone goes and gets a stroller thinking our dog's not going to get in this thing, and now we can hardly get them out of it. They love it so much," said one resident.
Residents have found another benefit to having their dogs in strollers. On hot days, the strollers prevent the dogs' paws from getting burned.
