Riverside police arrest 2 serial shoplifters

MURRIETA, Calif. The suspects are identified as Leonard Robert Gartin, 54, and Sherry Marlene Arviso, 46. They were arrested late Sunday night following a brief pursuit that began at the Super Target store on Clinton Keith Road in Murrieta.

Investigators said Gartin and Arviso are believed to have shoplifted before but always managed to evade authorities. They did not elaborate on the other alleged shoplifting incidents.

Gartin and Arviso were booked on suspicion of resisting arrest, burglary, possession of stolen property and conspiracy.
