Investigators said during the exchange of emails, Leaton arranged a meeting for the purpose of having sex. When Leaton arrived at the meeting location he was taken into custody without incident.
Immediately after the arrest, detectives armed with a search warrant, searched Leaton's North Hollywood home were they collected numerous items as evidence.
The investigation was handled by the Los Angeles Police Department, with help from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Child Exploitation Group.
Investigators said the computer evidence indicated Leaton had internet conversations with hundreds of "friends" who were believed to be underage females.
