Stevenson Ranch brush fire knocked down

STEVENSON RANCH, Calif. The fire was declared a 2-alarm brush fire by the department by 3 p.m. The fire had burned approximately 5 acres.

Firefighters and two water-dropping helicopters were on scene.

No homes were threatened and no injuries were reported.

Weather conditions were favorable for fighting the fire, according to the department.

L.A. County Fire officials declared the fire knocked down at 7:33 p.m. Tuesday.

The fire was believed to have started when a vehicle fire spread to nearby brush and began burning uphill in heavy brush.
