Shooting causes 5-car crash during rush hour

LOS ANGELES Witnesses said two men got out of their vehicles on the /*Crenshaw Boulevard*/ onramp to the westbound 10 Freeway at about 5:30 p.m. The man who stepped out of a white Audi pulled out a gun and fired at the other man.

A witness saw the shooter run down an embankment with the gun and a briefcase.

The gunman didn't hit anyone, but the man who was shot at has been arrested for suspicion of assault with a vehicle.

A Southwest Station duty officer identified the man in custody as Mark Anthony Johnson, 33. He was arrested at 7:45 p.m. and booked late Thursday at the 77th Street lockup. His bail was $32,000, according to inmate records.

The gunman who left the Audi remained at-large and he had not been publicly identified by police.

Police also found drugs in the gunman's Audi and think the whole incident may have been a drug deal gone bad.
