Ex-workers of egg farm said USDA ignored them

GALT, Iowa Robert and Deanna Arnold, who worked at /*Wright County Egg*/ facilities, said that employees from the United States Department of Agriculture ignored complaints about conditions at the site.

The two workers said they reported problems, including leaking manure and dead chickens to USDA employees, but were ignored and told to return to work.

An agency spokesman said those /*USDA*/ employees are primarily responsible for grading eggs, and not looking for health problems.

The salmonella outbreak has led to a /*recall*/ of about 550 million eggs.
