'Geezer Bandit' bank robber reward increased

SAN DIEGO The reward amount now stands at $20,000, up from $16,000.

The Geezer Bandit is blamed for at least 11 holdups in San Diego and Riverside counties over the past year.

Most recently, he's believed to have robbed a U.S. Bank branch in Vista on June 24. In that incident the FBI says he held a small revolver and demanded money from a teller. He made off with an unknown amount of cash.

Bank employees say the man is likely in his 60s. In some cases he was seen with a small oxygen tank over his shoulder, attached to a plastic nose-inhaler.

The FBI says despite his age and condition, the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
