Infant killed in Huntington Beach car crash

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. The collision occurred around 10 a.m. on Springdale Street and Croupier Drive.

According to police reports, a green 2006 Toyota Tacoma truck stopped at the crosswalk to allow a group of pedestrians to pass.

The Toyota was rear-ended by a white 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, sending the Toyota into the crosswalk where the baby was being pushed in a stroller.

The child's mother and her niece were also struck. They were hospitalized in serious condition.

Investigators have yet to say if either driver will be cited. Neither driver was injured in the accident. Police said alcohol was not involved in the crash.
